Viet Nam intensifies ties with German state

President of the State Parliament of Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen) of Germany Gabriele Andretta recently expressed her hope of fostering cooperation with Viet Nam in vocational training as the state has huge demand for skilled workers.

Receiving Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu, the official spoke of the collaboration results between Lower Saxony and Viet Nam, especially in research and cultural exchanges.

She appreciated the active integration of the Vietnamese community in the state, affirming that it has created a favourable legal framework for foreigners, including Vietnamese people.

Ambassador Vu spoke highly of the cooperation potential between the two sides in fields Lower Saxony has advantages and Viet Nam has demand such as biotechnology, manufacturing, renewable energy and vocational training.

He expressed his hope that Volkswagen Group, one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers, would build an assembly factory in Viet Nam.

The diplomat took the occasion to thank Lower Saxony for creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, work and study in the state. At present, there are about 10,000 Vietnamese people, including 600 students, living in Lower Saxony.

He also briefed the host on several activities to be held to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Viet Nam-Germany diplomatic ties in 2020.
