Over 300 billion VND to support those affected by Covid-19 pandemic

A total of over 300 billion VND from the national and Da Nang budgets will go to support those affected by the coronavirus pandemic citywide.

In details, those who made great contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause, and are receiving monthly social allowances will get allowances of 500,000 VND per month.

Meanwhile, each of families living below and near the city's poverty threshold will receive one million VND per month.

Businesses run from home and privately owned companies with taxable revenue of less than 100 million VND per year that have been hit by virus shutdown will receive one million VND each per month.

Employees, with monthly salaries of 5 million VND, who take unpaid leave for at least 14 days and those who have their labour contracts suspended will get 1.8 million VND per month per person.

The duration of support will depend on the developments of the pandemic but will not run beyond three months. The duration is applied from April to June.

Recent statistics released by the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs show that a total of 110,000 residents and families across the city are being affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Included are 16,942 people who made great contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause, 26,700 social allowance beneficiaries, and 7,474 families living below and near the city's poverty threshold.

Also, there are 15,200 people who have their labour contracts suspended, and take unpaid leave for at least 14 days and 12,000 individually-owned businesses with taxable revenue of less than 100 million VND per year, and 31,600 employees who have their labour contracts terminated but are ineligible for unemployment insurance.
