Da Nang and Azerbaijan discuss ways to boost co-operation
Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh discussed ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest with Mr Anar Imanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Viet Nam during a recent meeting in the city.

Vice Chairman Minh highlighted the importance of the landmark Politburo’s Resolution No 43-NQ/TW regarding the city’s progress by 2030 with a vision towards 2045 to Da Nang’s progress.
The officials discussed Da Nang's investment opportunities for Azerbaijan businesses with a focus on 5 priority areas, namely tourism, high-quality services associated with resort real estate; seaports and aviation associated with logistics services; hi-tech industry in combination with the construction of innovative start-up urban area; IT, electronics and telecommunications associated with digital economy; and hi-tech agricultural products and fisheries.
Mr Minh and Mr Anar Imanov also exchanged views on ways to establish a cooperative relationship between Da Nang and Sumgayit.
The Azerbaijan diplomat said that once Covid-19 is put under control worldwide, the leaders of the two cities will organise the exchange of visits in order to proceed the establishment of the ties, hereby helping deepen the bilateral friendly relationship.
The discussions also focussed on promoting the launch of the Da Nang and Azerbaijan non-stop flights in a bid to enhance the bilateral cooperation, encouraging more Azerbaijani businesses, especially tourism companies and travel agencies, to seek investment opportunities in the years ahead for the better multifaceted bilateral cooperation.
Mr Anar Imanov highlighted Azerbaija’s areas that boast strong strength, including the oil and gas industry. He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s advantages being third-largest city located near the Caspian Sea and many similarities to boost bilateral cooperation.
The Azerbaijan ambassador thanked Viet Nam for its active assistance to his country’s oil and gas exploration and production over recent years.
