The city leader plays host to Belgian diplomat
Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho played host to Belgian Ambassador to Viet Nam Paul Jansen in Da Nang on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Mr Tho and Mr Paul Jansen exchanged views on ways to boost bilateral ties and cooperation between Da Nang and Belgian localities.
Chairman Tho said that Da Nang has to date attracted 4 Belgian-invested projects, totalling around 9.27 million USD. He remarked that Da Nang is making every effort to accelerate the construction progress of information technology and hi-tech parks in a bid to make it an attractive investment destination for investors worldwide, including those from Belgium.
Mr Tho also highlighted the opportunities to develop bilateral cooperation, particularly in information technology, hi-tech, services, and tourism.
Mr Paul Jansen took the opportunity to thank Da Nang’s leaders for facilitating Belgian non-governmental organisations to implement their projects effectively in the city.
Belgian diplomat expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the bilateral cooperative ties between Da Nang and Belgian localities over recent years.
The officials also discussed the ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in several sectors, while further strengthening their partnership.
The University of Da Nang and the University of Liège in Belgium have established cooperative relations for over the past decade. Under the agreement, the two sides have exchanged their lecturers, staff members, and students, as well as shared their experience in training, and conducting research, plus implement joint educational activities.
