Major tasks in the next 4 years for the Da Nang Chapter of the Viet Nam - Thailand Friendship Association (VTFA) were identified at its 4^th Congress for the 2020 - 2024 term on Wednesday.

The past 4 years have seen VTFA’s Da Nang Chapter work closely with many relevant local agencies to organise many highly practical activities across the city, hereby strenghthen the time-honoured bilateral friendship with Thailand, effectively accelerating the whole city’s external affairs.

On the agenda of this term, importance will be attached to deepening the relationships with existing partners in tandem with getting on well with new ones. In particular, bilateral relationship with the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City will be strenghthened.

In addition, heed will be paid to ensuring a closer link with Thailand-Viet Nam Friendship associations based in Thai localities with which Da Nang has built up friendly and cooperative relationships such as Khon Kaen, Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom, Phuket and Chiang Mai.

At the Congress, the new 15-member Executive Board of VTFA’s Da Nang Chapter was voted. Mr Pham Huu Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO) was elected as the Chairman of VTFA’s Da Nang Chapter.
