The authorities, organisations and generous philanthropists across the city have done practical actions to help people in blockaded areas to overcome their difficult times.

In Hai Chau District’s Nam Duong Ward, 38 families with a total of 144 people, living at alley No 266 on Hoang Dieu Street and nearby the Nam Duong Traditional Market, have been put under lockdown after some community transmission cases of coronavirus were confirmed there.

The Nam Duong Ward authorities have done numerous practical and meaningful actions in order to help residents under lockdown.

In particular, members of the Nam Duong Ward Women’s Union have provided essential supplies for people under lockdown, whilst the ward’s Youth Union members have been active in distributing essential supplies to those in need.

The ward’s Fatherland Front Committee has offered 20 gifts, valued at 250,000 VND each, to poor families in the ward.

Another gifts, worth one million VND each, have gone to support 50 poor families affected by coronavirus crisis.

These above gifts have been donated by generous individuals, organisations and businesses citywide.

In similar vein, the Le Son Nam Village in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District, with a population of nearly 1,600 people, has been placed under a lockdown for 14 days since 6pm on 2 August after some new Covid-19 cases were detected in the village.

Vice Chairman of the Hoa Vang District Fatherland Front Committee Le Duy Cuu said his agency has deliverd food parcels to 450 families under lockdown. Food aid parcels consisted of instant noodles, bunches of fresh vegetables, fruit and some meat and eggs.

Earlier on 5 August, Chairwoman of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee Dang Thi Kim Lien visited Le Son Nam Village and gave spiritual encouragement to the villagers under lockdown.

On behalf of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee, Mrs Lien distributed 4,800 cloth face masks, 704 bottles of hand sanitizer, 10 tonnes of rice, 50 boxes of instant noodles, 50 boxes of milk and 50 boxes of cakes, plus other essential items, to the villagers.
