Arduous dedication of Da Nang's military forces to respond to Covid-19
The Da Nang- stationed military forces have been staffing Covid-19 isolation facilities and checkpoints across the city after Da Nang braced for a second wave of Covid-19 infections in late July. Regardless of the hardship and the potential risks of catching the deadly virus, military officers and men on the frontline in the fight against the virus have always strived to produce their best possible performance in an attempt to contain the pandemic.
Till date, the Da Nang Military Command has sent more than 400 officers and men to staff quarantine sites and checkpoints across the city. All of them are working around the clock with a high sense of responsibility and great work dedication without any complaints and fears over catching the virus.
Since a checkpoint was set up late last month on a section of the Highway 14B in Hoa Khuong Commune, suburb Hoa Vang District, Captain Phan Tan Hoang, an officer from the district-level Military Command has tasted life away from his beloved ones with his 24-hour work schedule strictly adhered to this checkpoint.
Meanwhile, Captain Phan Tan Hoang are always busying most around the clock measuring the body temperature of the passerby, helping them filling out their health declaration forms, and doing countless unnamed tasks until late at night.
“ In spite of being homesick, and working continuously for many hours during scorching days, and facing other inconveniences, as a military officer, I have always keep in my mind on fulfilling all the my assigned tasks well so as to make contributions to the city’s fight against coronavirus”, said Captain Hoang.
To date, the Da Nang Border Guard High Command has sent a combined total of about 25 officers and men to designated quarantine sites in the western part of the city.
Every day, these bolder guards have to wake up so early in the morning, to do personal hygiene in a prompt fashion, and then embark on their tasks in quarantine sites in a prompt fashion.
On their daily work routine, these soldiers do all kinds of tasks such as delivering portions of meals and drinks to the quarantined, helping the medical staff here conduct body temperature measurements on the sequestered, collecting garbage for appropriate disposal, receiving supplies from the quarantined people’s relatives, conducting the spray of disinfectant, and do many other tasks.
In addition, many units under the Da Nang Border Guard High Command appealed for donors nationwide to provide essential and medical supplies to support the city’s efforts to tackle coronavirus.
On 9 and 10 Augus, the Phu Loc Border Guard and the Thanh Khe Tay Ward Chapter of the Da Nang Women’s Union jointly provided 100 in-kind gifts consisting of food and other necessities to people in difficult financial circumstances and older people in the locality.
