Deputy Secretary Quang highly lauded a large number of businesses operating in Da Nang's industrial parks (IPs) for having put in place as many effective coronavirus infection prevention and control measures as they can to stem the virus spread.
It was also worth praising that some Japanese-invested businesses and labour-intensive firms involved in the aspects of fisheries and footwear have attached the importance to ensuring the ultimate safety of their staff in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
Municipal interdisciplinary inspection teams have recently been made their debuts to conduct regular in-depth inspections and large-scale checks over the strict compliance with the city government-imposed pandemic prevention rules amongst businesses operating in all IPs.
According the Authority of the Hi-tech Park and Industrial Zones, Da Nang's IPs are now home to a combined sum of 490 domestic and FDI projects with a total workforce of more than 70,000 people.
Since the start of this year, under the negative influence of the Covid-19 resurgences, the operation of many businesses in local IPs has faced difficulties and challenges in terms of consumption markets, and the import and export of their products.
As a result, 30 companies have temporarily suspended their operation till date, whilst a total of 2,000 workers have turned unemployed due to the pandemic- sparked work disruptions.
Till date, 3 firms based in local IPs have temporarily been shut down following a few Covid-19 positive cases surfacing here.
Also on Tuesday, Deputy Secretary Quang paid an inspection visit to the construction site of the 3rd stage of the landmark Da Nang Hi-tech Park, which is one of Da Nang’s key projects. This large-scale project has been back to a full swing following the Da Nang authorities-granted permission.
According to the city authorities’ assessments, the project is located in coronavirus low-risk areas, and very far away from residential areas, and also, it uses more machine power than human labour.
Besides, all construction engineers and workers always strict follow the compulsory coronavirus prevention measures to ensure safety for themselves and others by wearing face coverings, disinfecting their hands, having their body temperatures measured, and staying two metre apart at all times while in the construction site to limit the spread of the virus.
Also on the same day, the city Party deputy chief visited and extend his encouragement to first responders staffing a checkpoint on a section of the extended coastal Nguyen Tat Thanh route which stretches through Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Lien Commune
