More donations to support Da Nang's Covid-19 response efforts

On Wednesday, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee Tran Viet Dung paid inspection visits to checkpoints which have been set up within major entry and exit points in the city in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Vice Chairman praised personnel staffing the checkpoints for their dedication and devotion to their tasks. He also gave spiritual encouragement to them, and asked them to continue their efforts and uphold their responsibility to fulfill their assigned tasks.

On behalf of leaders of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee, Vice Chairman Dung distributed 99 carton boxes of water bottles, 143 carton boxes of various kinds of sweet cakes, 275 carton boxes of Jeru water bottles, and 440 carton boxes of C2 water bottles to the checkpoints.

The in-kind donations were contributed by generous individuals and organisations nationwide to support the city in its battle against coronavirus.

Most recently, the VinaCapital Group and the VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) have donated personal protective items to 85 families of children with heart problems in the city. In addition, they supported medical supplies, totalling nearly 500 million VND, to frontline medical facilities citywide.

Meanwhile, electronic retailer Nguyen Kim has offered its help to those who need it in Da Nang and Quang Nam Province amid virus crisis.

The Tien Son Field Hospital for Covid-19 patients in Da Nang was provided with 10 air purifiers and 5 large-screen TVs, and the Quang Nam Central General Hospital with 60 refrigeration and household appliances.

Also, 60 laptops, valued at 750 million VND in total has gone to support poor students of the University of Economics, and the University of Science and Technology, both based in Da Nang.
