Timely support for those in need during virus crisis
The ongoing coronavirus resurgence in Da Nang has been disrupting working life of many people, especially casual workers who are particularly vulnerable due to the nature of their employment. They are losing their jobs or regular levels of daily income due to the pandemic.

The local authorities and social organisations citywide, have been appealing for cash and in-kind donations to provide timely support for poor families to ensure no-one is left at a time of crisis.
The Hai Chau District chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee is a typical example.
From 31 July - 12 August, the chapter received over one billion VND in cash donations, 15 tonnes of rice and essential supplies from generous philanthropists at both home and abroad.
Till date, the chapter has distributed cash gifts, totalling 340 million VND, to 310 poor families and 1,407 in-kid gifts, worth 200 million VND in total for those struggling financially as a result of coronavirus.
Vice Chairwoman of the Hai Chau District chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee Tran Thi Cuc Huong remarked that the organisation has offered its help to local residents, and immigrants including students and lottery ticket sellers who are stuck in Da Nang due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, Cam Le District's Hoa An Ward chapter of the Da Nang Women's Union has distributed over 500 in-kind gifts to its disadvantaged members, and immigrant students and workers.
