His letter came after Da Nang life returned to normality with all activities resuming from 25 September, a positive fact that the city is shining as a Covid-19 outlier.
In his noticeable letter, the Da Nang leader concisely summarised how the city responded quickly and forcefully to unprecedented and unpredictable challenges.
23 July, the unforgettable day, started Da Nang’s uncompromising, very tough combat against the virus resurgence. This unexpected blow forced Da Nang government to re-impose strict restrictions on the local population to tackle the virus on 28 July.
Since Da Nang braced for a second wave of coronavirus, it has been on the right track in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic with its drastic motto of contact tracing - isolating- testing - stamping out the virus outbreak. Finally, it can be confidently said that the city has successfully contained the virus, and the life in Da Nang has come back to normal.
In his heartfelt letter, Chairman Tho remarked, with love heading out to Da Nang, national government agencies, governments of provinces and cities nationwide, along with generous philanthropies from both in Viet Nam and overseas have offered practical help, unconditional assistance and support to Da Nang's efforts to tackle coronavirus and to help the city gain in more strengths and resilience in its very hash virus tackling journey.
In particular, health workers from other localities nationwide that had been sent to the city to help it tackle its workforce shortages amid coronavirus crisis showed off their great devotion and dedication in treating infected patients and saving the lives of seriously ill ones, regardless of heavy world overload, hardship and looming menace of catching the deadly virus.
Besides, field reporters demonstrated their dynamism in offering the public a great deal of accurate, transparent and latest updates from the frontlines of the city’s Covid-19 fight, with a heed paid to reassuring local residents in the toughest times, hereby building up the public trust and confidence in the city’s winning over the coronavirus.
At the end of the letter, Chairman Tho hopefully said Da Nang is now looking forwards to welcoming the soonest possible comeback by tourists.
