Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho on Monday sent a thank-you letter to all health workers from other localities nationwide that had been sent to the city to help it tackle its workforce shortages amid coronavirus crisis.  His letter came after they had returned home following their worth-praising fulfillment of their assigned tasks during their meaningful work trips to the city.

They are the Ministry of Health-dispatched Covid-19 special task forces, medical workers from the Ha Noi-based Bach Mai and HCM City-located Cho Ray hospitals, the Hue Central Hospital, and others from the Health departments of Hai Phong, HCM City, Binh Dinh, Thua Thien- Hue and Nghe An.

In his heartfelt letter, on behalf of government and residents of Da Nang, Chairman Tho expressed his deep gratitude and sincere admiration to them for their great devotion and dedication to the city's fight against Covid-19 in their efforts to treat infected patients and save the lives of seriously ill ones, regardless of heavy world overload, hardship and looming menace of catching the deadly virus.

Partly thanks to their active support, the Covid-19 outbreak in Da Nang has been basically brought under control, marking the initial basis for possibly easing the city's social distancing restrictions in the coming days, the municipal government chief remarked.

These medical workers’ support is indeed regarded as a valuable source of encouragement and strength for the city after it braced for a second wave of Covid-19 infections in late July. This, hereby, is expected to play an important role in achieving elimination of Covid-19 in Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

The city leader hoped that the medical workforces would continue to actively support the city’s ongoing efforts to win the fight against coronavirus.
