On Wednesday, the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs handed 4,200 euros (about 115 million VND) in cash donations to the Da Nang General Hospital to support the hospital's efforts to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.

The cash donations came from Vietnamese expats in Italy, and members of the Italy - Viet Nam Mutual Assistance Association.

Dr Tran Thi Khanh Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Da Nang General Hospital, thanked the donors for their generosity and active support to help her hospital overcome the challenging time during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Most recently, representatives from the Da Nang Women's Union and the municipal Border Guard High Command have visited and presented gifts to border guard forces who are staffing checkpoints bordering with Quang Nam Province, the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and student halls of residence on the western side of the city.

At each checkpoint, the visitors distributed 3 million VND and 5 carton boxes of fresh milk to border guard officers and men, as well as gave spiritual encouragement to them, and encouraged them to continue their efforts and uphold their responsibility to fulfill their assigned tasks.

Besides, the Ngu Hanh Son chapter of the Da Nang Women's Union in collaboration with the Children of Viet Nam organisation already gave 100 in-kind gifts, totalling nearly 50 million VND, to poor women, single mothers and those affected by Covid-19 across the district.
