War Veterans' Association supports the city's fight against Covid-19
Since Da Nang braced for a second wave of Covid-19 infections in late July, the Da Nang War Veterans' Association have donated nearly 2.1 billion VND to support the city’s efforts in its battle against the virus, as well as to help its poor members citywide.
Till date, the Associations and its chapters across Da Nang have given cash gifts of 400,000 VND - 500,000 VND each, to 2,111 members living in difficult circumstances.
In their efforts to support the city to tackle the virus, 1,924 war-veterans across the city have been actively involved in Covid-19 prevention and control tasks. 314 of them have staffed checkpoints which have been set up within major entry and exit points in the city in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Associations and its chapters in Da Nang have launched many Covid-19 prevention and control campaigns effectively. Included are ‘War-veterans joining the efforts with the Da Nang government to eliminate coronavirus in the city’, and ‘Every war-veteran in Da Nang acts as a 'frontline soldier' against Covid-19’.
