Mr Nguyen Van Quang, who was previously Da Nang Party Committee (PC) Deputy Secretary, has been appointed to be the city Party chief for the 2020 - 2025 tenure.

Meanwhile, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and Le Trung Chinh were elected to municipal PC deputy secretaries.

The appointment of the new city key leaders was officially announced at the Thursday morning session of the freshly-concluded 22^nd municipal PC Congress for the 2020 - 2025 tenure at Da Nang’s School of Politics, 34 Ho Nghinh street.

The municipal PC’s 14-member Standing Board and 51-member Executive Board for the next five years also made their debuts at the Congress.

Born in 1969 in the northern province of Hai Phong, newly-appointed  Secretary Quang holds a PhD in law. He served as the Head of Hai Phong's People's Procuracy, the municipal prosecution agency, from 2012 before being promoted to be Head of the high-level People's Procuracy in HCM City in 2015. In September 2018, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Supreme People's Procuracy and then Secretary of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Procuracy during the 2015-2020 tenure. Between 1 January 2020 and 21 October 2020, he held the post of Da Nang Party Committee Standing Deputy Secretary.
