South Korean offically opens consulate General in Da Nang

The Consulate General of South Korea in Da Nang officially opened its doors on Friday morning. The opening ceremony of of the new consulate general was attended by representatives from Da Nang authorities and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs To Anh Dung.

The opening of the new South Korean diplomatic base in Da Nang is highly expected to considerably boost the time-honoured strategic bilateral relationships with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, to new heights in the time to come.

How to boost win-win cooperation with South Korea in the time ahead was put on the spotlight at the Friday morning meeting between Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea  to Viet Nam Park Noh-wan.

The South Korean diplomat made the Da Nang trip to attend the opening ceremony of new Consulate General here.

Over recent years, many highly noticeable South Korean-invested cooperation and investment projects have been successfully deployed in the city.

Most prominent amongst them were the Integrated Center for Controlling Green and Smart Urban Resilience Project (ENSURE Center) and the establishment of the Viet Nam - Korea University of Information Technology and Communicaitons.

At the same time, work is excepted to commence on many other South Korea-invested projects in Da Nang the coming time such as a Korean social housing project in Da Nang, and search and development (R & D) centre of The Hai Phong-based LG Electronics Viet Nam Co., Ltd., under South Korea’s LG Electronics to seek for business opportunities with car manufacturers in Da Nang, and Viet Nam at large.

Ambassador Park Noh-wan asked Da Nang government for assistance in reopening air services between Da Nang and South Korea localities provided Covid-19 prevention measures are kept in place, hereby facilitating South Korea experts to make comebacks to the city for work.

With regard to investment cooperation, Party Secretary Quang affirmed the fact that South Korean-invested projects totally match with Da Nang’s development strategies.

Mr Quang also vowed that more favorable conditions, of course, would be created for South Korean businesses to seek investment opportunities and operate effectively in the city.

Da Nang leaders said they will ask for permission from the Prime Minister to soon deploy a pilot programme to offer golf tours targeting more South Korean tourists to Da Nang for fun and entertainment.
