Da Nang government officials extend Christmas greetings to Catholic and Christian followers

During his Wednesday visit to the Diocese of Da Nang in recognition of the Christmas season, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang commended Catholic followers, and religious communities in Da Nang at large, for their great efforts in helping the city sucessfully contain COVID-19 pandemic and overcome natural disasters-triggered difficulties and challenges.

The city Party chief Quang wished Bishop Dang Duc Ngan, and the Catholic dignitaries and followers across the city, a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

Mr Quang also took the opportunity to ask Catholic dignitaries and followers in Da Nang to continue their efforts to drive the growth of the city, and be active in charity and social activities to help those in need.

On behalf of the local Catholic community, Bishop Dang Duc Ngan expressed his belief that Da Nang would overcome its difficulties and reach greater heights than the past’s achievements in the year ahead.

Also on the same day, during his visit to Da Nang-based Viet Nam Christian Mission, municipal party Committee Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet extended his Christmas and New Year wishes to leaders and Christian followers.

Mr Triet hoped that the Christian dignitaries would encourage their followers to uphold their consensus and solidarity, as well as to ensure a ‘good secular and religious life’, thereby promote the growth of the city, and that of the country as a whole.

In his Wednesday meeting with the Representative Board of the municipal Protestant Church, Deputy Secretary Triet spoke highly of the Church’s Christian dignitaries and followers for their active involvement in carrying out charity activities in Da Nang over recent years.
