Da Nang leaders extend congratulations on Lao National Day

Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, accompanied by municipal People’s Council Vice Chairman Le Minh Trung and municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh, on Monday, visited the Laos Consulate General in Da Nang and extended their greetings to its staff on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (2 December), and 100th birthday of late President Kaysone Phomvihane (13 December).

Deputy Secretary Triet praised the government and people of Laos for their significant achievements they have gained over the past 45 years.

Mr Triet also hailed the Laos Consulate General in Da Nang for its great efforts in deepening the bilateral ties between Da Nang and Laotian localities over recent years.

Deputy Secretary Triet hoped that the bilateral traditional ties between Da Nang and Lao localities, as well as Viet Nam and Laos as a whole, would be deepened in the years ahead.

In reply, Lao Consul General Viengxay Phommachanh thanked Da Nang leaders for their wishes. In addition, the Lao diplomat expressed his special thanks to the Vietnamese people for their valuable assistance to Laos over the past 45 years. Mr Viengxay Phommachanh also thanked Da Nang for its recent donated face masks to Laos amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Lao diplomat  took the opportunity to express his sympathy to heavily-flooded areas in Central Viet Nam, including Da Nang, about their huge damage.  He also hoped that people in affected localities would overcome their current difficulties and continue with their lives.
