More cash and in-kind disaster aid for Da Nang

At the La Lay Border Gate which links Quang Tri Province and the Lao southern province of Salavan, Salavan's Deputy Governor Phuthong Khammanivong donated 10 tonnes of rice and 50 million Lao Kip to Da Nang in an effort to support the city to rebound from the impacts of recent natural disasters.

On behalf of the government and people of Da Nang, Chairman of the municipal Fatherland Front Committee Ngo Xuan Thang thanked Salavan government for its generosity and support.

Mr Thang said 4 donated tonnes of rice would go to help affected people in suburban Hoa Vang which was the worst-hit part of Da Nang in recent devasting floods, whilst remainder would be given to people who need help in other parts of the city.

Previously, Salavan Province had provided 10 tons of rice and 50 million Lao Kip for each of flooded Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces.
