The statement was made by Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet during his reception on Monday for South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang Ahn Min Sik.

During the meeting with the South Korean guest, Deputy Secretary Triet expressed his sympathy with the Korean government over the swift and complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. He believed that, the country, boasting its modern health care system, would soon control and sucessfully contain the pandemic.

Mr Triet also asked for help from the South Korean diplomat to encourage more investors from his country to pour their money into Da Nang, especially in the city’s aspects of high-quality tourism and services, hi-tech, information technology, high-tech agriculture, and logistics.

He hoped that South Korean guest would do his utmost to foster the bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and Korean localities in such aspects as trade, investment, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchange in the years ahead after the pandemic was successfully contained.

In reply, Consulate General Ahn Min Sik expressed his delight at fruitful results from the cooperative ties and exchanges in all most aspects between Da Nang and South Korean localities over recent years.

“South Korean is the largest source of foreign direct investment into Viet Nam. Viet Nam is the only country among the 10 ASEAN member nations to have 3 South Korean diplomatic offices. This proves that the Korean government always treasures and wants to further deepen the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Viet Nam” Mr Ahn Min Sik remarked.

Mr Sik also asked for assistance from Da Nang government to facilitate the Consulate General of South Korea in Da Nang to operate effectively in the time to come.
