Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh on Lunar New Year’s Eve (the 30^th day of 12^th lunar month) visited and extended Tet greetings to officials and men at the municipal Police Department and sanitation workers from the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC who were on duty at the 29 March Square on 2 September Street.

During his visit to the local police, Secretary Quang acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements made by this law enforcement force over the past year.

“Through two coronavirus waves last year- the tough time when the requirements for ensuring security and order were first placed, Da Nang police force has successfully fulfilled its dual mission of ensuring social security in tandem with preventing the spread of the deadly virus.

Major General Vu Xuan Vien, Director of the Da Nang Police Department proudly affirmed the fact that, in 2020, the local police force overcame all difficulties and challenges to yield positive results from ensuring traffic safety and security.

In particular, sweeping raids were launched against all kinds of crimes, especially social evils, drug-related crimes, and organised criminal gangs.

Da Nang police force is working closely with other functional bodies, to ensue the around-the-clock operation of checkpoints set up the city’s entrances in a bid to keep coronavirus out of Da Nang amid the pandemic being still complicated in some Vietnamese localities.

Also on Thursday evening, Secretary Quang and Vice Chairman Minh extended their best Tet wishes and words of great encouragement to sanitation workers from the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC who were on duty at the 29 March Square on 2 September Street.

The municipal Party chief commended the company for its great efforts in recent years, especially in the days leading up to Tet, in deploying maximum resources to ensure environmental sanitation across the city.

He also asked the company's staff to continue upholding their sense of responsibility and dedication to ensure the green, clean and beautiful urban landscape during and after Tet.
