Prime Minister pays Tet rounds to Da Nang-based armed forces
Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc, on Friday, the first day of the Lunar Year of the buffalo visited Da Nang-based armed forces, and the headquarters of the Hai Chau District and Thuan Phuoc Ward authorities in the district.

He was accompanied by Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, and Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh.
At the Da Nang Border Guard High Command, the national government leader extended best Tet wishes to the force, the municipal military high command, the police, and Military Zone 5.
He also offered incense to late President Ho Chi Minh at the headquarters of the Da Nang Border Guard High Command.

As Da Nang is an area of national strategic significance, local armed forces should remain vigilant and prepare specific plans to respond any circumstance, he said, asking the forces to modernise themselves in the time to come.

PM Phuc highly lauded the efforts that the armed forces made amid difficulties triggered by complicated development of COVID-19 pandemic and unexpected natural disasters.

Also at the event, he briefed the hosts on the comprehensive results Viet Nam achieved over the past year. According to his assessments, the whole country showed high determination to control the coronavirus pandemic well.
Proudly, Viet Nam has been one of the most successful countries in the world at containing the pandemic.
“This is a very encouraging result that was partly attributed to the direct participation of the police, military, border guard and other functional forces”, affirmed PM Phuc.

In 2020, Da Nang-based armed forces showed strong performance in protecting national security and defence, social safety and order, safeguarding the borderline and combating trans-border criminal as well as trade fraud, while supporting locals in overcoming consequences of natural disasters. In particular, local public security officers successfully protected security during the 13th National Party Congress and before the upcoming general election.

The national government chief also expressed his belief that, with the precious time-honoured tradition of Da Nang, armed forces based in the city would continue to uphold their high sense of responsibility towards ensuring the success of Da Nang and Viet Nam at large in the lunar new year.

During his visits to the headquarters of the Hai Chau District and Thuan Phuoc Ward authorities, PM Phuc expressed his delight at the remarkable achievements made by them. Of special note, he hoped that Hai Chau would develop itself into a smart district in the coming time.
