Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh on Thursday morning awarded a 20 million VND bonus from the city budget to the municipal Border Guard force for have cracked down on crimes relating to smuggling and trade fraud through Da Nang port’s border gate.

The city leader highly appreciated the achievements of the local border guard force, and underlined a must-do to continue to fulfill their assigned tasks in the fight against the illegal trading of fake, counterfeit, smuggled, and poor-quality goods, thereby helping ensuring goods quality control and stabilising the local market.

It is known that, on 26 and 27 November 2020, border guard officers and men discovered two containers consisting of imported goods without papers proving their legality.

In detail, inside the containers were items that completely do not match the customs declaration papers, and all of them were either banned from import or subjected to conditional import with much higher tax rates.

The above-mentioned goods worth more than 14.5 billion VND in total were smuggled by Thien Phu Thanh Phat and Sunset companies.

Also, in December 2020, these two companies were found illegally importing seven containers of goods from foreign countries through the Da Nang port with a total value of about 35 billion VND.
