Vice Chairman Minh said he hopes that World Vision International will continue carrying out the 2nd stage of the project in the city after its 1st stage comes to end in September, 2021.

Mr Minh also asked for support from World Vision International to expand this project across Da Nang.

Vice Chairman Minh vowed that Da Nang government would create the most favourable conditions for World Vision International to keep its project running smoothly in the city.

He took the opportunity to ask World Vision International to give Da Nang a helping hand to the city-launched ongoing campaign to stop violence against women and girls in order to yield effective results from this campaign.

The 1st stage of the World Vision International-funded ‘Protecting children and young people from violence, exploitation and abuse on the internet’ project started to implement in Son Tra, Hai Chau and Cam Le districts in September, 2018. It is expected to come to end in September, 2021.

Over the past nearly 3 years, the project has supported the establishment of 12 core groups of children at 12 schools with 150 children in total, 116 children's clubs with a combined total of nearly 4,000 members. In addition, more than 14,400 children have been facilicitated to participate in school, district and city-level events to give information about online child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Besides, the project has helped Da Nang set up 2 facilities to provide support for school pupils who experienced online sexual harassment and abuse, cyber bullying, as well as give preventive interventions to vulnerabe children and young people.
