Da Nang launches practical activities to celebrate National Worker's Month

As part of Da Nang’s activities to celebrate the Reunification Day, Labour Day and the 131st birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19), the Da Nang Labour Federation has held a cremony at the Tuyen Son Sports Village to launch the 2021 National Worker's Month and open the 11th Sports Festival for White and Blue Collar Workers in Da Nang.

Also present at the event was Da Nang People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.

Addressing the event, Da Nang Labour Federation Chairman Nguyen Duy Minh said that the Da Nang Labour Federation has launched activities to mark the national Workers’ Month for the tenth time.

The event aimed to honour  the working class for their great devotion to the city’s growth, Mr Minh remarked.

There will be an array of practical activities across Da Nang in response to the national Workers’ Month on the theme of "Solidarity, Creativity, Actions for Progress ". Included are the "75,000 Initiatives to Overcome Difficulties  and Challenges for Progress" programme, a campaign to encourage white and blue collar workers in Da Nang to promote innovations, improve productivity and efficiency at work, and give greater devotion to their companies. In addition, importance will be attached to implementing the "Listening - Understanding - Sharing" programme for white and blue collar workers in Da Nang to offer them the opportunity to express their thoughts and aspirations as well as to ask them to join the effort with their companies overcome difficulties and challenges to drive the growth of their companies. Heed is also paid to organising a programme to thank the employees for their hard work and dedication.

To mark this occasion, the Da Nang Labour Federation donated 22 charity houses at a total cost of VND 560 million to the employees who have experienced housing difficulties.

The launching ceremony of the 2021 National Worker's Month was followed by the 11th Sports Festival for White and Blue Collar Workers in Da Nang. The sport festival featured 6 events, namely: mini football for men and women, badminton, table tennis, tug of war and bag jumping, attracting 19 teams with 920 athletes in total.
