Da Nang strengthens bilateral relations with Chinese localities

Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang on Thursday played host to Ms Dong Bi You, the newly-appointed Chinese Consul General in Da Nang, especially expressing his strong belief that the bilateral relations between Da Nang with Chinese localities will be strengthened in the coming time.

According to Secretary Quang, Da Nang holds its renowned stature as the centre of Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands, boasting many strengths and advantages in the development of hi-tech industries, IT and infrastructure.

Noticeably, Da Nang now is a major tourist destination in the region, and Viet Nam as a whole, attracting a large number of foreign tourists, including Chinese nationals.

The city Party chief highly appreciated the role of the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang in promoting bilateral cooperation and exchange activities, making joint forces with the Da Nang administration to handle issues related to Chinese expats studying, living and working in the city.

On that basis, Mr Quang highly suggested Ms Dong Bi You, during her tenure, will actively contribute to making the relations between Da Nang and Chinese localities more durable and fruitful in the time ahead.

In reply, the Chinese diplomat stressed the fact that China and Viet Nam boast a long-standing friendly relationship, and they are major trading partners in ASEAN.

She, in particular, pledged to be ready to coordinate with the Da Nang authorities in developing the multi-faceted relationship between Da Nang and Chinese localities, especially in aspects in which Da Nang boasts advantages, thereby contributing to deepening the China – Viet Nam ties in the coming time.
