Da Nang police continue receiving dossiers for chip-based ID card issuance from May 26
The Police Department of Da Nang organised an online meeting on Tuesday afternoon to review the city’s implementation of the manufacture, issuance and management of identification (ID) card project and the project on the National Database on Population amid the outbreak of the coronavirus disease.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnamese Prime Minister approved the investment policy of manufacture, issuance and management of citizen ID card project on September 3rd which would be a base for police forces to promptly carry out the project along with the National Database on Population Project.
Over the past 2 weeks, Da Nang police have temporarily suspended the receipt of dossiers for issuance of chip-based ID cards due to COVID-19.
Till date, Da Nang police have collected 987,000 population data sheets (DC01) from permanent residents, reaching 98.5%.
In addition, Da Nang police have received 580,000 dossiers for issuance of chip-based ID cards from permanent residents, reaching 77%.
Starting from May 26, Da Nang police will continue to receive applications for issuance of chip-based ID cards from permanent residents. The heed will be paid on encouraging temporary residents in the city to register for chip-based ID cards and putting in place strict preventive measures at the locations where the handling of procedures for issuance of such cards is conducted in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
