Under the authorisation of the Da Nang leaders, the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs has presented VND 1 billion from the municipal budget to the Lao Consulate General in the city. The donated money will then go to 5 south-central provinces of Laos, namely Savannakhet, Attapeu, Sekong, Champasak and Salavane, with each of which receiving VND 200 million.

The city’s financial support came amidst the fact that it is still fighting against COVID-19, thus showing its willingness to support the Lao provinces to promptly curb the spread of the deadly virus in the community as soon as possible.

Previously, Da Nang had also donated VND 100 million and 20,000 medical masks to Cambodia through the Vietnamese Embassy in this neighbouring country in a bid to support Cambodian people to overcome difficulties triggered by the pandemic.
