The first session of the Da Nang People’s Council in its 10^th tenure for the 2021-2026 term opened in the city on Friday morning. The 10^th municipal People's Council held elections by secret ballot for the city’s top leadership positions for the next five years.

Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and Mr. Le Minh Trung were re-elected as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Council respectively. Besides, Ms. Cao Thi Huyen Tran, Head of the Culture and Society Committee of the municipal People's Council was elected as the Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Council.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh was re-elected as the Chairman of the municipal People's Committee while Mr. Ho Ky Minh and Mr. Le Quang Nam were re-elected as Vice Chairpersons of the city People's Committee.

Mr. Luong Cong Tuan, the city’s Chief Inspector, Mr. Huynh Ba Cu, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, the Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications were elected as the Head and Deputy Heads of the Legal Committee of the municipal People's Council respectively.

Ms. Phan Thi Tuyet Nhung, the Deputy Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the municipal People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tuan, the Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment and Mr. Tran Vu Duy Man, Vice Chairman of the City Labour Union were elected as the Head and Deputy Heads of the Economic and Budget Committee of the municipal People's Council respectively.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khanh Van, the Chairman of the city Farmers' Association, Mr. Truong Minh Hai, and Mr. Le Van Nghia, the Vice Chairman of the Lien Chieu District People's Committee were elected as the Head and Deputy Heads of the Culture - Social Committee  of the City People's Council respectively.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tien was re-elected as the Head of the Urban Committee while Mr. Dinh Vui, the Director of the municipal Land Fund Development Center under the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and Mr. Le Van Dung, the Head of Traffic Works Quality Management Office under the Department of Transport were elected as the Deputy Heads of the Urban Committee of the City People’s Council.

In his remarks to the City People’s Council on taking the oath of office, municipal People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet pledged that the City People's Council will always stand with the authorities at all levels to realise the city’s goals of socio-economic development, ensure national security and defence. In addition, the heed will be paid on joining the city’s efforts to bring the COVID-19 outbreak under control in order to help life go back to normal.

Mr Triet also affirmed that the City People’s Council will work on the basis of social consensus and interactions, solidarity, trust, work efficiency, along with the trust and satisfaction of voters.
He also called for greater efforts from members of the City People’s Council to implement effectively the piloted the urban government model in the city.
