In a similar vein, another tertiary establishment under UD, the Da Nang University of Science and Technology, also presented about VND 258 million worth of contributions to the Fund.

The donated money will be transferred to the Fund through the municipal Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front.

Established by the Vietnamese government, the COVID-19 vaccine fund aims to receive, manage, and use voluntary financial and vaccine donations and assistance from domestic and foreign organisations and individuals, along with other legal sources, for COVID-19 vaccine procurement and import, research and production in Viet Nam, and the provision of vaccines for the people.

Viet Nam needs 150 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to immunize about 75 million out of the total population of 98 million people at a total estimated cost of more than VND25,000 billion.
