Da Nang branch of Viettel donates 550 Vinamilk fresh milk boxes to frontline healthcare workers

Leaders of the Da Nang branch of the military-run telecom provider Viettel on Wednesday handed over 550 boxes of Vinamilk fresh milk totalling VND 200 million in donations to the Da Nang Department of Health to support healthcare workers who are on the frontlines of battling the novel coronavirus disease.

Senior Colonel Tran Dinh Quang, the Deputy Director of Da Nang branch of Viettel,said that Viettel has provided Viet Nam’s national government with many important IT solutions which have been effectively applied to the country’s COVID-19 prevention and control work. Included are a COVID-19 vaccination management platform which links with nearly 7,500 cameras in quarantine facilities in cities and provinces nationwide, Telehealth - a remote health check-up and treatment system, the Viet Nam Health Declaration app, the national communicable disease supervision system, and the national drug supply system.

In addition, Viettel has donated VND 450 billion to the national COVID-19 vaccine fund, and its staff members have made donations totaling VND 19 billion to build a national healthcare center to offer remote medical consultation and telemedicine services nationwide.

Viettel has provided active support for Da Nang government to enable the city to promote the use of information technology in local pandemic prevention and control activities. Included are 5,000 4G sim cards given to doctors, nurses, police officers, and other workers who are on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19, Telehealth which links the Da Nang Department of Health with the municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and 7 district-level medical centres.

Viettel has also installed 24 wifi transmitters in Da Nang to ensure smooth operation and communication in COVID-19 checkpoints, designated quarantine facilities, and medical facilities where COVID-19 patients are being treated.

Besides, Viettel has sent its IT engineers to support healthcare workers to operate effectively the national vaccine management system during the city’s vaccination drive.
