In the wake of a rise in COVID-19 cases recorded in narrow alleys in Tam Thuan Ward, Thanh Khe District, the local police forces, in a prompt fashion, have strengthened patrols targeting small alleys in a bid to detect and handle anyone going against the COVID-19 prevention mandates.
Particularly on August 29, over 210 turns of patrolling across the ward were deployed and a total fine of VND30 million was levied on 10 COVID-19 rule violations.
According to Major Nguyen Thanh Hai, Tam Thuan Ward Deputy Police Chief, the unit has organised 3 patrol drives into alleys and locked-down areas, and at the same time, assigned personnel to be on duty at checkpoints set up the entrances to 23 alleys on a daily basis.
Given the intensified checks by the functional bodies, locals have strictly complied with the ‘stay-at-home’ mandate. Thanks to this, over the past two days, no violations of pandemic prevention regulations have been recorded.

In Thac Gian Ward, the police force patrolling the area has warned and tackled a number of violations, in tandem with reminding locals residing in many interconnected alleys to stay at their place of residence.
Similarly, police officers and men in the wards of An Hai Bac, Tho Quang, Man Thai, An Hai Dong, Nai Hien Dong and Phuoc My in Son Tra District have organised taskforces of police and militia to patrol every major or single small alley in a residential area day to day.
As reported by the Son Tra District Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, since August 26, more than 30 cases of violations of ‘stay-at-home’ orders were found and handled.
Meanwhile, police forces in Cam Le District have also deployed patrols around residential areas, especially old ones with many narrow alleys.
Secretary of Cam Le District Party Committee Phan Thi Thuy Linh emphasised that increasing the frequency of patrolling in alleys to strictly handle violations is a priority duty. In addition, the ward-level People's Committees have directed the authorities of residential groups to connect with local people via Zalo for publicity and daily reminders. Thanks to this, a decrease in the number of rule violations has been witnessed over the past few days.
