Da Nang police intensify enforcement of new restrictions during 7 days of COVID-19 containment
“The Da Nang police force must strengthen joint coordination with the military, border guards and other functional bodies at the grassroots level to effectively enforce the tougher restrictions in the 7-day period during which all local residents must stay at home at all times”, said municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang at a sending-off ceremony held on Monday morning to launch the large-scale police patrols across the city amid the increasing coronavirus threat.

Also in attendance at the event were Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.
Addressing the sending-off ceremony, Secretary Quang highly praised the city's police force for well maintaining security and order, especially in COVID-29 prevention and control.
Amid the complicated and unpredictable developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the municipal government has decided to impose a ban on all activities across the city and the stay-at-home-at-all-times order on the entire population from August 16 – 23 in a bid to quickly detect positive cases, trace, test and isolate all contacts, heading towards bringing the COVID-19 situation under control within 7 days.
“The in-force stronger COVID-19 prevention measures aim to protect the health and life of the local people first and foremost”, affirmed the city’s top leader.
Major General Vu Xuan Vien, Director of the Da Nang Police Department requested all local police officers and soldiers to organise scientific and reasonable enforcement of the strict travel restrictions , intensifying public patrols at every corner.
At the same time, heed must be paid to proactively detecting and strictly handling false information on COVID-19 prevention missions and cracking down on criminals who take advantage of the lockdown situation to commit unlawful acts.
