Defeating COVID-19: urgent task for Da Nang right now

It was reported that in the first months of 2021, the city did quite well the ‘multiple goal’ of speeding up COVID-19 prevention, stabilising locals’ lives, ensuing security and order, and gradually boosting economic recovery.
Unfortunately, the rapid spread of the coronavirus raging Da Nang since late July has adversely affected the local socio-economic development, security and the lives of the city-dwellers.
As a result, many business establishments have been heavily affected by the pandemic. Hundreds of thousands of workers are now furloughed or unemployed.
Meanwhile, the spending from municipal budget for COVID-19 prevention and control missions is huge and unexpected.

The city leader suggested that all of the delegates attending the ongoing session focus on in-depth research, active discussions and specific opinions so that proper resolutions will be adopted for the sake of the city’s stable performance in the rest of this tough year.
Importance is, accordingly, attached to putting the virus resurgence under control, carrying out timely supportive policies for locals and businesses, taking fundamental solutions for post-pandemic economic recovery, and mapping out public investment plans for the next 5 years.
