Established on August 15 by former officials of Hoa Hai Ward chapter of the Da Nang Youth Union in Ngu Hanh Son District, a fleet of trucks are on voluntary missions in transporting the so-called ‘zero- VND’ packages of essential items to residential areas in tandem with transporting patients to hospitals in emergencies during days of tougher COVID-19 curbs.

According to Huynh Quang Trung, Chairman of Hoa Hai Ward People's Committee, the fleet housing 20 members with more than 10 pickup trucks and minivans are always ready to transport all-the-clock whenever receiving mission within the ward to help the officers promptly hand over necessities to locals as well as solve other difficulties. They are also issued travel permits to support the fight against the pandemic.

When asked about the main reason for the establishment of this fleet, leader Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Vinh said that she were fully aware of current obstacles and difficulties that the ward's COVID-19 prevention and control workforce are facing, so she decided to mobilize former Youth Union members with their own vehicles to give a helping hand in sharing locals and officials’ hardships.

Every day, the free fleet of trucks with happiness and enthusiasm following each other to receive goods as well as fruit, vegetables as well as other kinds of material donation donated by local philanthropies for their delivery to the headquarters of of the ward’ administration. Afterwards, the donated items arrive at residential groups for the distribution to locals as promptly as possible.

Currently, along with the drastic engagement in COVID-19 prevention and control by the city’s whole political system and the community, highly meaningful models like the above-mentioned fleet of trucks carrying‘zero- VND’ packages of essential goods in Hoa Hai Ward definitely is contributing to maintaining continuous food supplies for residents in the most timely and effective manner.
