Rice distributed to the poor in Da Nang
Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh on Sunday approved the granting of 15kg of rice/person for people in difficult circumstances across the city.
The move aims to ease their financial burdens amid the complex development of the COVID-19 wave.
Over 1,630 tonnes of rice recently allocated from the national reserve will be given out to 108,709 poverty-stricken locals in all districts, with each person receiving 15kg of rice.
In detail, over 131 tonnes will be granted to 8,799 residents in Hai Chau District, whilst over 251 tonnes of rice, in support for 16,786 locals in Thanh Khe District, over 213 tonnes of rice for 14,213 dwellers in Son Tra District, over 350 tonnes of rice for 23,379 inhabitants in Ngu Hanh Son District, over 340 tonnes of rice for 22,706 citizens in Lien Chieu District, over 227 tonnes of rice, for 15,155 locals in Cam Le District, and over 115 tonnes of rice for 7,671 people in Hoa Vang District.
The distribution of the aforementioned amounts of rice for the eligible subjects must be completed by no later than August 28, 2021, as per request by the municipal administration.
