Da Nang eyes to soon control COVID-19 wave, well perform socio-economic tasks
Addressing the 3rd session of the Da Nang People's Council in its 10th tenure on Wednesday, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasised that the top goal in the coming time is still to put the current COVID-19 wave under control as soon as possible in tandem with well perform key socio-economic development tasks.

According to Chairman Triet, till date, the Standing Board of the People's Council has promptly issued policies to ensure resources for pandemic prevention and control missions, especially the granting of financial aids for local residents facing difficulties triggered by the virus resurgence.
He underlined a must-do for functional agencies to facilities eligible dwellers to access assistances timely and promptly, as well as ensure fairness, transparency and expansion of groups of beneficiaries.
In particular, more supportive policies must be released for the sake of local residents amid this COVID-19 rage, with a focus on alleviating financial burdens shouldered by poverty-stricken households, disadvantaged and unemployed people.
In parallel with the coronavirus containment goal, importance must be attached to well performing socio-economic development tasks set for the rest of this year.
Heed should be paid to helping local businesses ensure the stability of their operations, hereby contributing to avoiding a decline in the city’s economic performance and striving to achieve the highest GRDP (gross regional domestic product) growth target in tandem with effectively ensuring social welfare and security.
Also at the session, Chairman Triet congratulated Mr. Tran Phuoc Son and Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen on their new key posts as municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman and Vice Chairwoman, respectively, for the 2021 - 2026 term.
Chairman Triet expressed his strong belief that, with high qualification, talent and work enthusiasm, the two newly-appointed vice chairmen would well perform their assigned tasks, especially in terms of leadership and administration skills, thereby contributing to implementing synchronous and scientific solutions to soon control and repel the virus.
