Municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet on Wednesday praised Son Tra District for actively taking proactive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 as well as ensure equitable and timely access to COVID-19 financial support packages for eligible beneficiaries in an attempt make sure no one is left behind amid COVID-19 crisis.

Mr Triet highlighted the district’s efforts to roll out COVID-19 vaccines for local residents in safe and effective practices.

As of September 21, a total of 61,172 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Son Tra District or 62,03% of its adult population had been vaccinated. In detail, 57,352 people received the first dose while 3,820 others got their second shot.

Son Tra District has spent VND 47 million in total to support 47 people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution and are suffering from life-threatening illness. In addition, VND 378 million have gone to help 378 persons with severe disabilities, orphaned children, and single seniors, over VND 5.9 billion for 12,014 poor families.

Besides, the district has provided food and essential good support for families in difficult circumstances during the city’s strict social distancing period.
