Financial support for Da Nang medical staff on the frontline against COVID-19

On Tuesday morning, the Da Nang Federation of Labour has just awarded a total of VND309 million worth of support medical staff who have participated in the tough fight against COVID-19 in Ho Chi Minh City, one of the largest outbreak hotspots in Viet Nam, and employees at work under ‘3-on- the-spot’ (on-site production, on-site dining, on-site resting) approach in the city.

A total of VND15 million was donated to 2 doctors, 5 medics and 8 ambulance drivers from the Da Nang 115 Emergency Centre who departed on July 20, 2021 from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City to fulfill their assigned duties. All of them have returned to the central city after many days of tense work in the southern land heavily stricken with COVID-19.

In addition, VND 70 million VND was given out to 46 healthcare workers who are raising children aged under 6 without the support of caregiver, or those having elderly parents or children suffering from serious illnesses. These medical workers have been away from home for more than 2 months to join the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the city.

Also, VND224 million was presented to the trade union of the Danameco Medical JSC to support the provision of meals for its employees who are staying at work under ‘3-on- the-spot’ approach
