Highly- inspiring story of Da Nang 'food delivery man' for residents
During days of complying with the ‘stay-at-home’ mandate, Mr Huynh Nhan, Deputy Head of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front chapter in residential area Chon Tam 2G, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, was nicknamed ‘food delivery man’ by local residents due to his devoted help to support locals no matter what time of day. It can be seen that his dedication, not merely aiming to fulfill his assigned tasks, comes from his kindness, generosity and deep empathy toward the people's difficulties.
Mr Nhan rides a motorbike carrying essential food to deliver to each house every single day during days of complying with the ‘stay-at-home’ mandate. |
At the crack of dawn, Mr Nhan drove a motorbike to pull a specialized vehicle carrying bread, fresh noodles, and Quang noodles to each house. The kind-hearted man went to the market or supermarket to buy food according to each order made by every household and then “ship” door-to-door for them, even buy medicine and essential supplies, in a prompt fashion, when locals are in need.
Whenever the Hoa Khanh Nam Ward authorities conduct the distribution of root, tuber and leafy vegetables to residents, Mr Nhan, along with his teammates, promptly cleans, divides them into small portions and then delivers them to each household or some rows of rented rooms in the residential group.
At the crack of dawn, Mr Nhan takes advantage of the time to cut morning glory to transport to each house as soon as possible. |
Besides, in order to help everyone have enough fresh food during this tough time, Mr Nhan also looked for egg and fish supply sources at an affordable price and ordered them for locals. He even cut morning glory by himself in a field that he could buy vegetables and transport to deliver for people.
Due to his huge daily workload, he houses a group in the Zalo social network with the participation of all households in the residential group to be able to meet all the needs of people. Every 3 days, he receives orders via Zalo and goes to wet markets city-wide to buy food for them. He also provides his phone number so that in case any house runs out of food unexpectedly or needs to buy medicine, they can contact him immediately.
There were nights he was unable to enjoy his dinner after a long and tiring working day, however, next morning, locals here still saw him travel on the road to bring food and medicine for them. Therefore, it is understandable that his enthusiasm has made many people admire so much.

In addition, Mr Nhan also joined in sponsors’ mobilisation activities to call for donations of rice and essential food for poor households, workers, and students staying in rented accommodations.
Moreover, he always updates to make sure that no household was left out of the city’s welfare support packages for people in difficulty as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Difficulties and hardships are inevitable. But seeing people happy when having fresh food, or receiving sincere thanks from students, I feel more motivated to work hard for the sake of the community," confided Nhan.
On the whole, Mr. Nhan has become a special character in thousands of human stories during this pandemic. Thanks to his dedication and thoughtfulness, people have gradually believe in everyday fairy tales and live more humanely in the midst of this crisis.
