As we know, COVID-19 has put the financial burden on many people, especially the poor. However, thanks to the food support made by the authorities of the residential groups, the ward-level People's Committees along with the business community, residents in Da Nang have felt at ease in these dificult days.

Typically, Mr Tran Dac Hieu, Director of Thien Loc Xanh Food Company, did not hesitate to spend more than VND 60 million buying 350 gifts containing necessities for people residing in Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District and Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District.

“The pandemic has affected many people’s lives, especially workers, pupils and the poor. I simply think I'm not too difficult like them, so I should share a little burden rested on their shoulders, partly to help them overcome this tough time " said Mr Hieu.

Sharing the same thoughts with Mr Hieu, due to the sympathy for people’s difficulties these months, Veteran Dinh Viet Truc, Director of Ha Sinh - Kim Anh Co., Ltd. donated 100,000 eggs to Lien Chieu District People's Committee and 50,000 eggs to the Hoa Khanh Bac Ward People's Committee for timely distribution to people in need locally.

Being on duty and helping locals at the same time

Along with the arrangement of forces to patrol, and stay on duty at COVID-19 prevention and control checkpoints, the Hoa Nhon Entrance Gate Traffic Police Station also acts as a bridge to support distribute food to people in designated quarantine areas and poor residential areas.

Over the recent time, officers and soldiers in this unit have appealed and mobilized some organizations and individuals to support nearly 6 tonnes of tubers, fruit and green vegetables, 5 tonnes of rice, 1,000 cartons of instant noodles, hundreds of bottles of spices of all kinds for frontline forces fighting against the pandemic across 5 wards in Son Tra District and communes in Hoa Vang District, as well as for the poor during the city's social distancing period.

A short time ago, in order to support thousands of people travelled by motorbikes from the southern provinces to their hometowns, Hoa Nhon Entrance Gate Traffic Police together with benefactors also welcomed and ensured traffic order and safety for those passing through Da Nang; as well as preparing a large amount of food, water, fuel, even giving cash to support them, especially for difficult families.

Apart from making efforts to fulfill duties of ensuring traffic order and safety, most units under the Da Nang Traffic Police Division have made great efforts in contributing funds, as well as mobilizing and supporting food timely for the frontline forces and needy people during time complying with strict social distancing mandate; thereby demonstrating the role of a soldier of the Viet Nam People's Public Security.
