This movement has been officially conducted by the Da Nang Youth Union from August 27 with two key duties: Joining the fight against COVID-19 in tandem with fulfill any tasks assigned by the local authorities at all levels as well as residents with great enthusiasm and dedication.

Accordingly, spreading throughout the all 56 wards and communes is a squad of young volunteers to participate in being on duty at the city’s gateway checkpoints and within the city; joining in local community-based COVID-19 task forces; supporting the medical force sampling on locals for testing or inputting data, assisting at vaccination sites; transporting necessities as well as going shopping for locals.

Tran Thi Phuong Anh, Secretary of the Youth Union of An Cu 3 Residential Area, An Hai Dong Ward, Son Tra District, is one of the thousands of youth union members participating in the above-mentioned movement.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Da Nang, Anh and her 17 members of the youth volunteer team have enthusiastically participated in many activities listed above.

Last year, although she had to take care of her sick mom, she still actively participated in the Union Youth activities and tried to focus on studying under her mom’s encouragement.

This year, Phuong Anh is still active in anti-pandemic duties with the companionship of her mother from the other world. To stay motivated on every step of the Youth Union activity participating journey, she knows that her mother and friends always accompany and encourage this young girl to fulfill her outstanding mission.

In another vein, for nearly a month now, the model of ‘Zero-VND food kitchen’ initiated by the Youth Union chapter of Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District has supported more than 800 meals, beverages, cakes for task forces taking samples for testing locally with funds mobilized from a variety of sponsors to ensure their health during times performing their duties.

Besides, Binh Hien Ward Youth Union chapter has also carried out the model of " Finalizing order – obtaining purchase" at the price-stabilizing sales points from 7 am to 4 pm.

On the daily basis, volunteer members here receive over 100 orders from the leader of the residential group, then prepare the goods for the leader or directly work as a ‘shipper’ delivering for people

Similarly, the Youth Union chapter of Hoa Phuoc Commune, Hoa Vang District has deployed the model of ‘Shippers in blue’ to support the leaders and management boards of residential groups in the distribution of goods and necessities to locals.

Not only that, many households in the blockaded area could not harvest rice in a timely manner so police and self-defence forces exerted their utmost efforts to assist locals in harvesting and carrying rice to the concrete campus.

Their practical contributions have left a beautiful impression on locals, thus contributed to enriching the tradition of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and consolidating the relationship between the army and residents; demonstrating the spirit of the Viet Nam People's Public Security always serving for the sake of the Vietnamese people.

According to the municipal Youth Union, on average, there are 4,000 turns of local Youth Union members participating in activities each day to respond to the  movement, helping to support people, residential groups’ leaders as well as the Da Nang authorities repel disease as soon as possible.
