Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh has just approved the city’s e-government architecture framework (version 2.0) that is considered as the basis for mapping out a roadmap for boosting information technology (IT) application in the city during the 2021-2025 period, towards a comprehensive digital government.

Under the freshly-approved framework, Da Nang will focus on identifying orientations in terms of principles, design and technical standards during the implementation of the city's IT-related investment projects, upgrading IT and communications infrastructure, enhancing the efficiency of IT application in government departments and agencies, increasing labour productivity, reducing operating costs, and continuing to simplify administrative procedures.
The framework will ensure a consistent approach to the management and control of IT-related investment activities and to the use of resources in order to avoid duplication, thereby helping the city's IT system connect with external systems securely. Therefore, the framework is an important basis for the city to continue its transition to digital government and consolidate the existing e-government.
In addition, the framework will help promote the wide and effective application of IT in State-run agencies citywide in order to serve administrative reforms, boost IT application in combination with the electronic quality management system, improving the city's competitiveness, and ensuring network security and information safety.
The e-government architecture framework (version 2.0) will apply to all State-run agencies in the city, including Party and socio-political organisations, People's Councils and People's Committees at grass roots level, specialised units, and leaders, specialists, cadres/civil servants/officers... at State-run agencies.
Other agencies and organisations can refer to the framework version 2.0 to ensure connectivity, interconnectivity and synchronization with the information system of the city's State agencies.
The local e-government architecture framework is compatible with the national e-government architecture framework (version 2.0), the framework of the overall smart city architecture and digital transformation framework, thereby ensuring compliance with the roadmap for digital transformation and creating a foundation to promote the development of digital economy and society in the city.
