The event, to be held in both online and in-person forms, will take the theme "Enhancing public-private partnership: Key motivation for comprehensive recovery and inclusive, sustainable development and innovation".

This is the first time that such a national strategic dialogue will take place between Viet Nam and the WEF. It is also an opportunity for the WEF and foreign investors to directly discuss with the Prime Minister about economic goals and socio-economic development potential of the Government in the 2021-2026 tenure, and get an insight in opportunities to expand their business in Viet Nam.

Investors will also offer suggestions about how to promote and take advantage of investment and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Since Viet Nam and the WEF established relations in 1989, their cooperative ties have been enhanced in different spheres.

Vietnamese government leaders have regularly attended WEF Davos meetings as well as regional meetings on East Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Viet Nam has coordinated with the WEF to organise many major socio-economic and diplomatic events in the Southeast Asian nation. The WEF and a number of Vietnamese ministries and agencies have also launched cooperation programmes.

Vietnam is also a key partner of the WEF within the framework of the “New Vision for Agriculture”.

The dialogue is expected to create opportunities for Viet Nam to call for investors and mobilise resources to realise development goals and orientations to restructure the national economy and renew its growth model.

The PM’s co-chair of the event aims to promote Viet Nam’s vision, aspirations and targets set in the socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030, and the country’s policy on adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic.
