City leader extends greetings to Laos on its 46th National Day
On Monday morning, Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, visited the Laos Consulate General in Da Nang on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - 2021), and 101st birthday of late President Kaysone Phomvihane (December 13, 1920-2021).

The city leader was accompanied by Chairman of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee Ngo Xuan Thang and Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh.
On behalf of the government and people of Da Nang, Deputy Secretary Triet extended his greetings to Lao Consul General Viengxay Phommachanh, all staff of the Laos Consulate General in Da Nang, and the authorities and people of Laos as a whole on their special occasions.
Mr Triet highly lauded the government and people of Laos for their significant achievements they have gained over the past 46 years. At the same time, the brotherly friendship between Viet Nam and Laos in general, and Da Nang and Laotian localities in particular, have been continuously tightened.
“Over the past two years, the government and people of Laos have been responding well to COVID-19, with a low number of daily infections and deaths being recorded. Hopefully, Laos will soon drive its pots-pandemic economic recovery” emphasized the city leader.

Deputy Secretary Triet said that, in the past times, despite many panemic-triggered difficulties, Da Nang has always made great efforts to effectively carry out some cooperative programmes with Laotian localities according to a memorandum of understanding signed during the 2018-2022 period. In particular, many projects in such aspects as education, agriculture, urban planning, and experience exchange activities, have been implemented effectively in southern and central localities of Laos, and Vientiane capital of Laos.
Lao Consul General Viengxay Phommachanh, for his part, thanked Da Nang leaders for their wishes. In addition, the Lao diplomat expressed his special thanks to the government and people of Da Nang for their active support to its fight against COVID-19 in recent years. Aside from medical equipment, the Da Nang government has assisted and ensured safety for Lao students in the city during the pandemic, thereby significantly contributing to deepening the bilateral ties with Laos.
