City leaders visit and congratulate the 40th founding anniversary of Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha
On November 3, the Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet paid a visit to the Executive Board of the city’s Buddhist Sangha in the build up to the 40th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha (November 7, 1981 - 2021).

Chairman of the municipal Fatherland Front Committee Ngo Xuan Thang, People’s Council Vice Chairman Le Minh Trung, and People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen, joined in the delegation.
On behalf of the city leaders, Deputy Secretary Triet congratulated Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, and followers citywide on their special day.
Mr Triet highly appreciated local Buddhist followers for their remarkable contributions to the city’s socio-economic development, and its security and defence protection work, over the past times. He also praised them for joining their efforts with the local government and residents to well implement the city’s dual goals of stepping up virus elimination in tandem with keeping local production and business activities on stable course.
Deputy Secretary Triet took the opportunity to encourage Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, and followers in the city to promote the Vietnamese Buddhism’s spirit of ‘safeguarding the country and bringing peace to the people’, and to continue making joint efforts with the city’s authorities and other local residents to strengthen national solidarity and make Da Nang a more modern, civilised, beautiful and peaceful city.
For his part, Most Venerable Thich Thien Toan, a Member of the Executive Board of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha Central Committee cum Standing Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Da Nang Buddhist Sangha, thanked the city leaders for their special care over the past times.
He expressed his belief that, the Buddhist community in the city will continue to develop and make more active contributions to the city’s progress in the time to come.
