During his reception on Friday for Mr. Ahn Min Sik, Consul General of the Republic of Korea (RoK) in Da Nang, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang expressed his delight at the relationship and good friendly relations between Da Nang and Korean localities over the past time and highly appreciated the role of the Consulate General of the RoK in Da Nang in promoting cooperative relations between the two sides.

The Da Nang top leader sincerely thanked the RoK government, the Consulate General in Da Nang and citizens living in the city for have supported and accompanied the municipal government in the process of COVID-19 prevention and control.

Recently, RoK investors have been interested in promoting investment into priority aspects which fully match the city’s right development orientations such as information technology (IT) and high technology.

Apart from the development of the Da Nang High-tech Park, the municipal authorities have applied many investment attraction policies. It is hoped that, in the future, more and more potential investors from RoK will do business in the city.

The most favourable possible conditions will be created by the municipal government to support RoK businesses in cooperation activities.

Da Nang is developing many economic recovery plans, in which attractive post-pandemic tours will be launched for Korean tourists.

The city’s Party chief hoped that Consul General Ahn Min Sik would continue to promote multi-faceted cooperation between Da Nang and RoK localities in the coming time.

Consul General Ahn Min Sik highly appreciated effective measures taken by the Da Nang leaders to curb the COVID-19 surge, thereby bringing life back to a new normal.

Over the past two years, despite many difficulties triggered by COVID-19, the friendly relationship between Viet Nam - RoK, and Da Nang and RoK localities in particular has developed, especially in business activities, medical equipment aid and COVID-19 vaccine supplies.

According to the RoK diplomat, in reality, the cooperation and investment activities of  RoK enterprises in Central Viet Nam are still limited as compared to the North and South, and their the potential and advantages have yet to be fully tapped. He would like the Da Nang authorities to facilitate RoK investors to operate effectively in the city.

2022 marks the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2022).

The RoK Consulate General in Da Nang is on track to prepare a plan to organise a wide range of bilateral exchanges and cooperation activities.

It is believed that this occasion would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation and investment activities and tighten the long-lasting friendship between Da Nang and Korean localities and partners in the time ahead.
