Da Nang sets up militia naval flotilla

The Da Nang Military High Command on Sunday announced a decision to establish a permanent militia naval flotilla under its management and set up the Party cell of this new agency.

Present at the launching of the naval flotilla were Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, the Commander of Military Region 5, Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum municipal People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and municipal People's Committee Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh.

Speaking at the announcement, Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc suggested the municipal administration and the Military High Command to regularly pay attention to ensuring all necessary conditions for the effective operation of the naval flotilla.

At the same time, it is a must-do for officers and soldiers of the permanent militia naval flotilla to firmly grasp legal knowledge, especially the law at sea, uphold the sense of responsibility, foster the spirit of solidarity and well complete the assigned tasks.

The newly-founded agency are in charge of mobilizing the people to implement the Party's guidelines and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws on national defence and security, as well as the exploitation and protection of aquatic resources in the national waters.

Other tasks are to increase patrols at sea, join the continuous protection of the national sovereignty over sea and islands, along with fishing grounds and fishermen, safeguard security, prevent crimes, and participate in rescue and rescue, transport and supply activities at sea.
