Da Nang to call for more investment into new social housing projects

At the Question and Answer (Q&A) on Friday as part of the 4th session of the Da Nang People’s Council in its 10th tenure for the 2021-2026 term, Director of the Da Nang Department of Construction Phung Phu Phong revealed the city's plans to call for even more investment into social housing projects in order to meet the growing demand.

Till date, 13,938 social housing and resettlement apartments, shop-houses, workers' housing units have been put into use, of which 10,579 were funded by the state budget and the remaining ones used non-state mobilised capital.

Under its housing development plan for the period 2021-2025, the city is focusing on completing a combined total of 2,691 under-construction apartments and starting the construction of 1,690 new ones with the use of the state funds.

Also importantly, appeals will be made for non-state capital sources to develop four social housing projects, namely social housing project at land areas coded B4-1, B4- 2 in Hoa Hiep 4 Resettlement Area in Lien Chieu District with a scale of 1,500 apartments and a total capital of VND1,224 billion, the second stage of a social housing project in the Hoa Cam Industrial Park with a scale of 600 apartments at an estimated cost of VND 490 billion, and similar ones in the residential land planning area No. 3 and

No.5 in Zone B of a residential area to the south of Cam Le Bridge with 750 and 1,200 apartments, respectively and a cost of VND612 billion and VND979 billion.

Addressing the event, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum  Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet suggested that the Department of Construction and other relevant local agencies to make plans for the development of apartments and social housing units, especially for workers, laborers and the poor.

Another task is to continuously implement the pilot sales of State-owned social housing across the city.
