Diocese of Da Nang pays pre-Tet visit to city leaders

On Tuesday morning, some Catholic dignitaries of the Diocese of Da Nang, led by its Bishop Dang Duc Ngan, paid a pre-Tet visit to the Da Nang leaders.

Secretary of Da Nang Party Committee cum Head of the municipal National Assembly Deputies' delegation Nguyen Van Quang chaired the reception.

Also, Head of the municipal Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Board Le Van Trung, and Vice Chairman of the municipal Fatherland Front Committee Duong Dinh Lieu made their attendance at the event.

Bishop Dang Duc Ngan affirmed that, despite pandemic-triggered difficulties and challenges in 2021, the city’s economy still maintained a good growth rate, which was mainly attributed to great efforts made by leaders of Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and other relevant departments and branches. He remarked the achievements once again affirmed the effective, proper, and creative leadership of the city's leaders in driving the city’s progress and ensuring a stable and peaceful life for local residents.

Bishop Ngan wished the leaders of the Party Committee and all local people a peaceful and happy Tet, hoping that the city would continue to carry out many meaningful programmes to bring joys to locals in the new lunar year.

For his part, Secretary Quang thanked the Diocese of Da Nang in general, and Bishop Dang Duc Ngan in particular, for their wishes sent to the city's leaders and people on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year.

The city Party chief also took the opportunity to highly praisethe high public consensus amongst local people, including parishioners, for giving a helping hand to the city to control the COVID-19 and drive its post-pandemic socio-economic development.

He also acknowledged and highly appreciated the vital role of Bishop Dang Duc Ngan and other Catholic dignitaries in heightening awareness of social responsibility amongst parishioners citywide.

Although Da Nang is expected to face many difficulties and challenges in 2022, he expressed his belief that the Catholic followers, and local people as a whole, would continue to accompany the municipal government in creating a good society to benefit locals and promote the city’s development in the time to come.

On behalf of the city leaders, Mr Quang wished Bishop Ngan, and all Catholic dignitaries and parishioners, a good health and a happy and prosperous Tet.
